Aims to establish different market settings and environments to observe experimentally and provide a lens through which science can analyze agents' behavior and the resulting characteristics of trading flows, information diffusion and aggregation, price setting mechanisms, and returns processes. Researchers in experimental finance can study to what extent existing financial economics theory makes valid predictions, and attempt to discover new principles on which such theory can be extended. Research may proceed by conducting trading simulations or by establishing and studying the behaviour of people in artificial competitive market-like settings.
Central bankers who "follow the yellow brick road" end up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, every Labor Day weekend for their annual symposium sponsored by – who else? – the Kansas City Fed. (Who can forget Judy Garland saying to her little dog, "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore," in the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz?)
The Jackson Hole Resort serves as the Federal Reserve's equivalent of the Emerald City, as Fed governors and presidents meet with central bankers and economists from around the world to discuss economic issues. This year, the symposium focused on housing and monetary policy. Usually, the Fed chairman kicks off the symposium and, this year, the new chairman, Ben S. Bernanke, did the honors. He closed his speech with these words:
An entity whose income exceeds its expenditure can lend or invest the excess income. On the other hand, an entity whose income is less than its expenditure can raise capital by borrowing or selling equity claims, decreasing its expenses, or increasing its income. The lender can find a borrower, a financial intermediary such as, or buy notes or bonds in the. The lender receives interest, the borrower pays a higher interest than the lender receives, and the financial intermediary pockets the difference.
A bank aggregates the activities of many borrowers and lenders. A bank accepts deposits from lenders, on which it pays the interest. The bank then lends these deposits to borrowers. Banks allow borrowers and lenders, of different sizes, to coordinate their activity. Banks are thus compensators of money flows in space.
A specific example of corporate finance is the sale of stock by a company to institutional investors like investment banks, who in turn generally sell it to the public. The stock gives whoever owns it part ownership in that company. If you buy one share of XYZ Inc, and they have 100 shares outstanding (held by investors), you are 1/100 owner of that company. Of course, in return for the stock, the company receives cash, which it uses to expand its business in a process called "equity financing". Equity financing mixed with the sale of bonds (or any other debt financing) is called the company's .

Today FX market is one of the largest and most liquid financial markets in the world, and includes trading between large banks, central banks, currency speculators, corporations, governments, and other institutions. The average daily volume in the global forex and related markets is continuously growing. Traditional daily turnover was reported to be over US$ 3.2 trillion in April 2007 by the Bank for International Settlements. Since then, the market has continued to grow. According to Euromoney's annual FX Poll, volumes grew a further 41% between 2007 and 2008.
The purpose of FX market is to facilitate trade and investment. The need for a foreign exchange market arises because of the presence of multifarious international currencies such as US Dollar, Pound Sterling, etc, and the need for trading in such currencies.
Because foreign exchange is an OTC market where brokers/dealers negotiate directly with one another, there is no central exchange or clearing house. The biggest geographic trading centre is the UK, primarily London, which according to IFSL estimates has increased its share of global turnover in traditional transactions from 31.3% in April 2004 to 34.1% in April 2007. The ten most active traders account for almost 80% of trading volume, according to the 2008 Euromoney FX survey.[2] These large international banks continually provide the market with both bid (buy) and ask (sell) prices. The bid/ask spread is the difference between the price at which a bank or market maker will sell ("ask", or "offer") and the price at which a market-maker will buy ("bid") from a wholesale customer. This spread is minimal for actively traded pairs of currencies, usually 0–3 pips. For example, the bid/ask quote of EUR/USD might be 1.2200/1.2203 on a retail broker. Minimum trading size for most deals is usually 100,000 units of base currency, which is a standard "lot".
These spreads might not apply to retail customers at banks, which will routinely mark up the difference to say 1.2100 / 1.2300 for transfers, or say 1.2000 / 1.2400 for banknotes or travelers' checks. Spot prices at market makers vary, but on EUR/USD are usually no more than 3 pips wide (i.e. 0.0003). Competition is greatly increased with larger transactions, and pip spreads shrink on the major pairs to as little as 1 to 2 pips.

Hai Allah, SRK!
The Badshah of Bollywood has been out of circulation for a while. We was wondering what the scene with him is when suddenly he’s back in the news making headlines for his controversial quotes.In a recent interview to a glossy, SRK is said to have spoken of Prophet Mohammad in poor light. We wonder if that is possible, to speak against your own faith!
According to the magazine, the superstar has compared the Prophet to the likes of maniacal leaders such as Hitler and others.
Quite likely, the interview has upset a few people in the community and this is soon going to blow up into a nation wide scandal if the superstar does not nip it in the bud.
It is as this juncture we wish SRK blogged to keep us informed. He is presently out of India shooting for KJo's film My Name is Khan.
He had just got over with Billu troubles, tu-tu-main-main with other Khan actors, and now this. Must say, he has a way of staying on top.
Shah Rukh is known to make light hearted controversial statements in his interviews, which are blown out of context.
His last joke on a television channel some months ago was "There are two kinds of Muslims. One who believe in Allah and the other who believe in Moolah." Luckily for him, no fatwa was announced.
For an actor, repeatedly pulled up for having an opinion, maybe keeping a diplomatic distance from the press at this hour, will be a very good idea.

Arnold ignores Bollywood
While Kambakkth Ishq was being shot in the US there were strong rumours that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be a part of the movie too.
However the rumours died a natural dead later. When StarBoxOffice spoke to director Sabbir Khan about if they had indeed approached the ex Mr Universe turned Hollywood actor he admits that Arnold was indeed the first person that they had met.“Arnold didn’t act in the movie but he has very courteous with us. He invited us to shoot in California and helped us in many ways as the Governor of California. We had actually met him as the Governor of California,” says Sabbir. “If you talk about credits, the first credit that you will see in the film will be a Thank You note to the Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has indeed been a great help,” adds the rookie director.

Priyanka and Shahid officially call it quits!
Even before they could officially announce that they were a couple, buzz is that Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur have called it quits. News about their relationship having come to an end has been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks now. Priyanka was fed up of Shahid’s constant interference, and he expected her to play the conservative girl, which didn’t go down well with the actress.
A senior and very sexy actress informs us that the relationship is finally off. “When I heard Priyanka and Shahid have called off their relationship, my reaction was one of incredulity. I didn’t even know they were a couple,” she said.According to sources, Priyanka, who has been linked with the Hollywood hunk Gerard Butler at the same time as her relationship with Shahid began to gather momentum, tried very hard to make her relationship with Shahid work.
A source said, “Priyanka is a faithful and very romantic girl. As long as she was with Harman Baweja, there wasn’t even a whiff of her having a fling with anyone else. But then she simply outgrew Harman. She only tried to make the relationship work for old time’s sake.”

No Sallu at Kat’s b’day!
Remember the tamasha that Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan created at Katrina Kaif’s birthday last July in a Bandra restaurant?
How could anybody forget the incident that threatened to split Bollywood down the middle with that other Khan, Aamir, doing his best and failing to patch up the prickly differences that cropped up and still exist between Sallu and SRK! Well, it’s birthday time again, and this year, the sensitive Katrina, who is under a lot of pressure already within and outside Bollywood, seems determined to make her party a happy, safe and stress-free occasion.
The actress is taking off for a rare, full-family reunion in London this July to coincide with her birthday on the 19th. Katrina, while not admitting that the idea is to keep out Salman, has confirmed that she is planning a family holiday in July. “I’ve been burning the midnight oil to make myself free for my family and I’m exhausted and stressed. I can’t wait to go home. Though I’ve met parts of my family on every visit, all of us eight siblings have not been together in nine years... can you believe it! I really want to do this,” said the actress.

Shiney has been framed, says wife
Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja's wife Anupama on Wednesday (June 17, 2009) said he was being framed in the rape case involving his domestic help and added she had no qualms in saying she is "Mrs. Shiney Ahuja".Speaking to a large crowd of mediapersons, Anupam said she doesn't know who is behind the alleged frame-up, but expected the truth to come out soon.
Maintaining that she would not speculate or the motives, she said: "But it is hundred percent a frame-up.
"I don't know why he is being framed up, maybe because he is a celebrity or because he is a soft target," said Anupama who has known Shiney for 15 years.
"The police are doing their duty and the matter has to be proved in the court of law. I am confident that the truth will come out in the court soon," she added.
Rubbishing media reports that Shiney had confessed to raping his teenaged maid, Anupama said this was a wild speculation without basis.

My Name Is Khan
The film re-unites the super-hit jodi of SRK and Kajol after a hiatus of nearly 7 years (they were last seen in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001)
The film is based on a real life story where the protagonist, Rizwan Khan is suffering from a rare disease called Asperger’s Disease which causes physical clumsiness and atypical use of language. The film is set in the city of New York.
Jimmy Shiergill plays Shahrukh’s brother in the movie. Kajol plays the love interest of Shahrukh for the film.
Karan Johar, through this movie, wants to convey a strong message of humanity, especially about the treatment meted out to people suffering from this rare disorder. Through his character, ShahRukh Khan undergoes a transformation in his outlook about life and the whole world, while he is being held captive by some miscreants for a few weeks. The film will also try to show that if given right counselling to such people, they would be able to easily adjust with the society like any other normal citizen.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani
In Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani Ranbir plays the melancholy lover-boy hopelessly in love with the idea of being in love. The character was immortalized by Raj Kapoor in Mera Naam Joker and before him, Chaplin in City Lights. Ranbir in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani plays Prem a true inheritor of the two imperishable heroes from the past. He is an innocent guy with a heart of gold. There will be distinct elements of Charlie Chaplin and Raj kapoor , but not too much though.
Katrina Kaif plays a character that closely resembles what she is in real life. A little lost, a little out of it. Credulous, artless and trusting, a girl who believes in the goodness of all things. The film requires her to be young and trendy. Apparently She was excited to do this role working with Ranbir kapoor since this would be the first time that she would be paired with someone closer to her own age.
The film is slated to be released in the first half of the year 2009.

Barah Aana hindi movie
Barah Aana is a comedy of real life, set in today's Mumbai. The story revolves around three unlikely friends: a driver (Naseeruddin Shah), a watchman (Vijay Raaz), and a waiter (Arjun Mathur). The driver is an older man, stoic but dependable. The watchman, in his 30s, is a pushover at work but otherwise mischievous. The waiter is a young, swaggering chap, brimming with ambition. Living together, their different attitudes make for interesting banter.
At some point, misfortune befalls the watchman and, due to a series of chance events, he stumbles into a crime. Striking upon a seemingly low-risk way to make good money, and discovering a new sense of self-confidence, he tries to entice the others to join him in a series of such crimes. Cat and mouse games ensue between the three as personalities change, but events soon spiral out of control, leading them in a direction none of them had wanted to take. Featuring a talented ensemble cast, Barah Aana is based on an original script. The running time is 97 minutes.

Ek - the power of one hindi movie
This film is the Hindi remake of superhit Telugu film ATAHDU. Nandu (Bobby Deol) is an assassin by profession. Somehow he gets wrongly accused of a politician's murder.Whilst on the run from the police, he boards a train where he meets Shehar (Chunky Pandey).
Shehar is returning home for the first time after 14 years. As they converse, Nandu gets to know all about his joint family and the imminent wedding of Shehar's cousin. This is the main reason he is going home for. The twist comes when the police catches up with Nandu on the train. In the shootout that follows, Shehar accidentally dies.Deeply shocked by the incident, Nandu goes to Shehar's family home to return his belongings to his grandfather and also break the news of his grandson's death.
But when Nandu arrives at Shehar's family home, he is mistaken for Shehar himself. With no time to explain what had happened, the family members get him involved with the wedding preparations and celebrations.
Preet (Shreya Saran), the daughter of a family friend becomes fascinated by Nandu. In no time she falls in love with him. Blue hindi movie
Blue which is supposed to be India’s first ‘official’ underwater film is a thriller story involving crucial scenes by the lead actors Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar (who plays a fisherman based in the Bahamas) beneath sea water.
Lara Dutta plays the character of a glamorous beach babe and is paired opposite to Sanjay Dutt in the movie.The international technician crew consisting of Nickolette Skarlatos and Clarabelle Saldanha (who worked on Megan Fox in the Hollywood film ‘Transformers’ ) compared Lara’s look very similar to Megan Fox. Katrina Kaif was initially taken in to do just an item song , but the producers later on extended her role as they felt that an Akshay-Katrina starrer would again prove to be a lucky pairing at the box office.
The film is being made on a lavish scale of a 100-150 crores. The producers are leaving no stone unturned to make this movie have an ‘International’ feel, and have roped in many Hollywood top notch technicians, along with the Australian sensational singer Kylie Minogue, who will be seen in two of the most hype about songs of the movie, choreographed by Farah Khan.

Aladin Aladdin hindi movie
The modern day film titled ‘Aladin’ OR Aladdin , the evergreen Arabian Nights story, is a hi-end special effects film being made on a big Bollywood format. With this film, Eros makes its foray into visual effects movies.
The story is contemporary but set in a fantasy world of make belief. The dresses are modern but the surroundings and the settings,larger than life and imagined. Amitabh Bachchan plays the ‘genie’ in the film. As of now Aladin is pretty much on track for a Christmas release as it is a children centered story.

Gulal Gulaal hindi movie
After making films like No Smoking and Dev D Anurag Kashyap’s all set with Gulal. It is a love story set against a certain backdrop. It is believed he scripted Gulaal when he was angry and upset with everything around him.
According to a close pal of Anurag, making Gulaal was very close to his heart as he was in the most terrible time. He was highly influenced by Sahir Ludhianvi’s songs from Pyaasa, especially ‘Yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye to kya hai’. Gulal is a tribute by Anurag to all those poets who wrote such aspiring, inspirational poems.
Though it is his most angry film, Anurag has done extensive research on the history of Rajputs and their stories of the formation of Republic India. Anurag spent a lot of time with the royals of Jaipur and read history from Sharda Dwivedi to Romila Thapar, he also read the Patiala Report and then scripted Gulal.
Kay Kay Menon plays a grassroots political leader. The film is 80 percent complete and the last schedule will be for 15 days at Jaipur beginning June7.

Rang Rasiya ('Colours of Passion' in English)
Based on legendary painter Raja Ravi Varma's life, the movie which is based on Marathi author Ranjit Desai's novel, is a sensuous love story of the great painter and his muse, a woman called Sugandhabai.
Randeep Hooda who plays the role of Ravi Varma, is said to have required a lot of intensity and concentration as it was difficult to essay the enigmatic character of Raja Ravi Verma, a flamboyant pioneering painter who was a visionary, apart from being a great admirer of the female form.
Nandana Sen, plays the sensuous muse of the painter. Her character is sensual yet innocent and is hungry for love. She is playful, very romantic, strong-headed and brave. She was a legend in her own right, because she was a trend setter and a fashion icon for everyone at that time.
The whole world used to tell her that she was beautiful but she never believed them till she met this great painter who changed her life. She was harassed after he painted her as a goddess but she was brave enough to face the wrath.
Mehta's bilingual "Rang Rasiya" is courting controversy for the number of sensuous scenes it has. But it is also that it had taken him on and off six years to do the research that included reading all literature associated with that era and he also had to travel a lot to see the actual paintings.
It has been shot extensively in different locations in India and also at a huge set in Karjat near Mumbai.
The movie will hit the theatres March 27 2009.

Aditya Chopra’s film ‘New York’ is being directed by Kabir Khan, of ‘Kabul Express’ fame and the storyline is hugely inspired by a film ‘Arlington Road’ made in 1999.Its a tale of friendship and terrorism.
John Abraham and Katrina Kaif who play the leading roles in the film have decided to bury the hatchet and co operate on the sets for the betterment of the film
The story of the film has two main protagonists who run into each other without knowing that one of them is a terrorist. This negative character of the terrorist is being played by Neil Nitin Mukesh .
From reliable sources it is believed that Neil Nitin Mukesh had injured himself while running on the treadmill in preparation for a chase sequence. He wanted it to look authentic, and ran a lot faster than he should have and ultimately had a torn ligament, so instead of doing the chase sequence in sports shoes he had to wear his boots.
Another interesting bit about the film is about John Abraham and how he was denuded for a prison sequence .Since it is set in the US prison, the director wanted to show exactly how they break your spirit in an American prison when they want you to confess to being a terrorist. Although john agreed to be completely stripped off his clothes for the shot, he was quite traumatised by the end of it.
Most of the shooting took place in Philadelphia, and is apparently still under production.

Kites hindi movies
Kites is being touted as featuring Hrithik's most sensuous role till date. He stars opposite US-based Spanish model Barbara Mori.
The film is about an Indian boy's romantic affair with a Latina girl and their predicament as they do not understand each other's language. The film is about love transcending cultural and language barriers.
In the movie, Barabar Mori's character speaks only Spanish and Hrithik, a salsa teacher can't speak a word of Spanish. So he speaks to her in Hindi and yet the two communicate and fall madly in love. But then something happens that forces the two to split and that's where Kangana steps in, and there is a love triangle between them. Towards the end there is a thriller twist to the story.
The bases for the story is on an American dance competition where both Hrithik and Kangna are Americans of Indian descent.
Kangana's role is not bigger than that of Barbara's. Kangana plays a very rich girl and is also Hrithik's dance student.
The story is set mostly in New Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
In spite of all talks about steamy scenes in the movie,it is not about sex but an intensely romantic film.
Kites will be completed in January 2009

Kaminey hindi movies
Kaminey is the story of identical twins. Shahid Kapoor plays a double role, as "Charlie" the bad guy who is selfish and wants money and "Guddu" the other twin who is a good chocolate boy who also wants to acquire money and go ahead in life but through hard-work and honesty and so in course of time the two meet together. Both want to make big in their life and so in the race of life, Charlie goes on the negative side. He meets Sunil Bhope, who is a shrewd politician and Priyanka Chopra’s (Sweety) brother, who misuses Charlie and over course of time he becomes a bad man.
Kaminey is quite an interesting film as its socio-political drama, in which Amol Gupte is debuting as main negative character.
Vishal has really done a splendid role in his screenplay as for the first time it’s his original screenplay and not adapted by any Shakespeare novels

Shooting of the flim has been done mostly in Los Angleles and Italy.
With this movie Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor will be sharing screen space for the seventh time. Denise Richards is the first major Hollywood actor recently to play a full-flegded role in a Bollywood production. Kareena Kapoor and Denise are in competition for the love of Askhay Kumar , who plays a stuntman in the film.

Aamna Sharif ( Who became a household name when she began her career in Ekta Kapoor’s serial ‘kahin toh Hoga’is all set to make her debut in this bollywood film, alongwith Aftab Shivdasani.
The most controversial titbit about this film is about Linda Arsenio, the American actress who also stars in the movie and had to do a bikini scene.Intially she was not informed about this part and was very upset about it. She put her foot down and chose to wear a sarong over it as the scene was to be picturized on a Delhi roof where she is sun bathing and all neighbors come to their roof to see a gori firang having a sun bath.

This film had been announce a long time back, more than a year back ,but due to various reasons it kept on getting delayed. One of the reasons was that Fardeen Khan had lost his passport.

In the midst of central London, a successful Indian restaurant called ‘Gaylord’ is run by a Londoner of Indian origin called Pinu.
A simple soul at heart, Pinu has many complexes – a special one being that he is a virgin and has experienced no intimacy with a woman.
To top that, his biggest fear is to be laughed at by people… an ever-repeating phenomenon with him.
Pinu is quite an introvert and has no real friends…the closest he has ever gotten to a friendship is with his foster brother rajat, who is quite a contrast to his own personality –A casual air about him, he is the lead singer of a rock band.
Rajat is very fond of pinu, though is often a source of annoyance to him as he finds pinu really funny.
One day, a young Indian fellow called Kamlesh comes to his restaurant and asks for a job as a stand-up comedian. Quite thrown off, Pinu initially refuses but finally lets him join as a cook, who also does a stand-up act in the evenings.
On the same day, he hires a new cashier - Renu, a young art student from India, who has a passion for caricatures.
Life changes dramatically for Pinu as Gaylord begins to transform… Renu works on the look of the place, makes cheerful caricatures for customers while Kamlesh is a fabulous cook with a great talent for making people laugh in his acts and soon the restaurant is more happening and the business is much better.

Aa Dekhe Zara hindi movie
Ray Acharya (Neil Nitin Mukesh), a struggling photographer has nothing going for him... until he inherits a very 'special' camera from his grandfather which changes his life in a way that he could not have imagined in his wildest dreams.
The 'power' of the camera changes Ray's destiny overnight. His life becomes one big roller coaster ride that takes him from rags to riches and also helps him meet the love of his life, Simi (Bipasha Basu) who is an exciting sexy DJ with a mind of her own. Everything is hunky dory and moving towards 'happily ever after'.

Not many are aware that DHOONDTE REH JAOGE was to be produced by Sanjay Khan's daughter Farah Khan initially, with ad film-maker Prahlad Kakkar making his directorial debut. Also, the movie was initially called FLOP .Umesh Shukla, director of DHOONDTE REH JAOGE was, merely the writer of the film then. However, things didn't work out for some reason and Umesh, who was so charged with the script, decided to direct it himself. UTV decided to produce the film eventually

There's a producer (Paresh Rawal), writer plus actor (Johny Lever), superstar going through a rough patch (Sonu Sood), aspiring actress (Soha Ali Khan) and director (Kunal Khemu)
Dhoondte Reh Jaoge is basically meant to be an out and out comedy, of two very different people, who come from absolutely contrasting backgrounds as well. It also portrays the process of how bad films get made in the Bollywood film industry.
Paresh plays this producer who is keen to make a flop film. His film is called 'Sholay Se Lagaan Tak .while Kunal Khemu plays this director called Anand Pawar, who is middle class guy ,and is honest to the core. It is this same honesty that has already cost him five different jobs and now due to the mounting pressure, he is forced to find a way to pay the rent for the chawl room where is he living.
The story is about how thanks to destiny and circumstances, they are forced to become partners and work together to make a film. So the bottom line is how these two varied individuals get together during a crisis situation to devise a solution.
Paresh Rawal, as Raj Chopra, the producer wants to make the film with Sonu Sood , a Superstar named Aryan Kapoor who is very choosy about the kind of roles he does. He finally agrees to work with this producer who has been after him for a while. But when all is not hunky-dory he leaves the project mid-way.. However the producer instead of shelving the film goes ahead and completes the film with the Superstar's look-alikes (also played by Sonu Sood) which leads to hilarious situations. Sonu will be seen in as many as eleven different roles in the film.
In one scene he plays Amitabh Bachchan of Deewar, in another scene he plays Dharam paaji of Sholay,. In one shot he plays Shah Rukh of DDLJ, and then there is also a scene where he plays Sunny of Gadar and finally a shot in which he plays Aamir from Lagaan. So you will see Sonu Sood in these various get-ups. Playing each of these characters was both interesting and challenging for the actor. One of the get-ups that Sonu sood has had to play was a dwarf which was not easy as he had to fold his legs and walk and even maintain a different body-language.
There are bound to be some funny incidents during the shoot of such a funny film, one of such funny incidents was when Soha Ali Khan and Sonu Sood Soha were shooting for a romantic number in the middle of the water in Malaysia, and Soha Ali Khan was wearing chappals in the water, suddenly her chappals came off and were floating in the middle of the water. The whole unit couldn't control their laughter on seeing the chappals in the frame.
Incidentally, Zayed Khan was signed to enact the role that Sonu Sood has eventually portrayed in the film, but Zayed opted out because in the ad issued by UTV in the trade mags, Kunal Khemu's name figured over Zayed's, even after UTV apologised for the mistake Zayed Khan refused to do the film.
The film is slated to be released nationwide on March 6th 2009.

Director Umesh Shukla is making his debut with this film. Umesh has worked with directors like Priyadarshan in the past.

Salman not ready to patch up with SRK
On the one hand there are Shah Rukh and Kareena patching up with Aishwarya and on the other hand, there is Salman Khan who seems to be in no mood to forgive superstar SRK.
And this time it was Farah Khan who had to bear the brunt of the two Khans’ rivalry.
According to a source, Salman Khan had promised Farah Khan to appear as a guest in her talk show ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein’, but when he came to know that Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment is a line producer of the show, Salman backed out immediately.
“Salman had agreed to shoot for Farah Khan’s talk show and had even allotted dates for the shoot. Before this, Salman had never been keen to appear in any talk show but he made an exception for Farah. He was under the impression that her production house, Three’s Company, was the sole producer of the show. When Salman got to know that Shah Rukh was also associated with the show, he not only cancelled the shoot but also made his displeasure clear about not being informed beforehand about SRK’s involvement”, said the source.
Salman seems to be in no mood to mend relations with Shah Rukh.

Salman Khan's meaningful tips for Kareena
It was none other than Salman Khan who gave Kareena Kapoor a piece of advice regarding her weight.Kareena and sister Karisma were the celebrity contestants on the opening episode of Salmana’s TV show ‘10 Ka Dum’ on Saturday (May 30) night.
Salman was at his humorous best and kept joking with both the sisters.
Salman, who has taken Aamir Khan’s advice and quit drinking, passed it on to Kareena, who has lost a lot of weight in the recent past and now flaunts an eye-popping body.
Salman told Kareena to be careful and not lose too much weight, as men prefer women with some flesh. He also said that losing too much weight affects the face and one stops looking attractive. Finally he passed a light hearted statement warning Kareena not to stand in front of the fan or she might just fly away.

Love Aaj Kal' to be promoted at T20 World Cup
"Love Aaj Kal" Saif Ali Khan's maiden venture as producer that also stars Deepika Padukone, is like Test cricket and Twenty20 rolled into one. The makers of the film, about love across generations, have even tied up with the ICC T20 World Cup, says co-producer Dinesh Vijan."'Love Aaj Kal' has major similarities with cricket. Like there is Test cricket and T20, the film too has love of two generations - love 'aaj' and love 'kal'," Vijan told IANS over telephone from Mumbai.
"The story basically revolves around the fact that though the process of relationships and love has changed over time, its essence and basic character remains the same," the producer said.
So Saif and Vijan, who are co-producing the film under their banner Illuminati Films Pvt Ltd, have tied up with the ICC T20 World Cup, which starts on June 5, for the movie's promotion.
"We have associated with the T20 World Cup. We will shoot a promotional video on the T20 World Cup. Deepika and Saif will also go to London to cheer the Indian team," Vijan said.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali of "Jab We Met" fame, the film also stars Rahul Khanna and Rishi Kapoor in pivotal roles and is expected to be released in June.
Asked why they zeroed in on Ali for their first film, Vijan said they instantly fell in love with the script he showed them.
"I had seen 'Socha Na Tha' and had liked Imtiaz's work. He had then told us about this script and we loved that too. We realised that he will be the best first director of our banner. This was before 'Jab We Met'. Then when 'Jab We Met' hit the screens and became such a big hit, we knew we had made the right decision," he said.
"Love Aaj Kal", shot across Delhi, Kolkata, London and San Francisco, didn't have a name till a major part of it was filmed.
"It took us some time to decide the title. Finally it was a collaborative effort. One day, while I was travelling, I came up with the title 'Aaj Kal' but somehow it didn't have the punch and the spark. So, after due discussion, we came up with 'Love Aaj Kal' which sounded right. Even Saif liked it a lot," revealed Vijan, who has earlier produced "Being Cyrus".
Asked whether the film is targeted at only the youth like most films today, Vijan said that "Love Aaj Kal" was not limited to any one age group.
"Our film has a very relevant language. The story caters to both generations and thus has 'Kal' and 'Aaj' in the title. Therefore, the film has a wide reach. Everyone will feel connected to the subject," he said.

Sonam admits she is the 'young' face of the same brand endorsed by Aishwarya
The Aishwarya Rai-Sonam Kapoor cold war has been written about and discussed extensively but the two actresses have never spoken about it. Now that has changed. In an interview to Koel Purie on the chat show On the Couch with Koel, The Kapoor girl talked about the Cannes fiasco, and about being the 'young' face of the international cosmetic brand.A source present during the shoot reveals, "Koel got straight to the chase and asked Sonam what she felt about the Cannes disaster. Sonam initially hesitated, then came the all- telling response: "I don't want to remember it as it is not a pleasant thing to recall."
When Koel asked her if she was disappointed about not making it to the festival, Sonam said that she looked at the visit as a part of her "professional obligation." When Koel labelled her 'diplomatic', the Saawariya girl laughed, "But I am always diplomatic, I have never been not diplomatic."
Continuing her questions on Cannes, Purie further asked the young actress to comment on her statement of being the young face of the cosmetic brand. "To this, Sonam exuberantly replied, "I say it as I see it!" and left it there. There was sarcasm in her tone, which indirectly hinted that Ash indeed had taken a back seat in the brand game, making way for the younger actress."
Throughout the interview, Sonam was at her candid best and touched various subjects from being called a motormouth, to her link-up with Ranbir and her films. "It's one of Sonam's most open interviews. The only time you see her get tense is when she's questioned about Ash and the Cannes drama."

John wants only Katrina kaif
Looks like John Abraham is taking his fondness for Katrina Kaif to a new level. The actor has been suggesting Kat's name to every producer who comes his way.Recently, when Johnny boy was offered Rob Cohen's The Jewel of India, he told the makers to chose Katrina over Deepika.
Even though Cohen himself has personally admitted he's mesmerised by Deepika, John insisted that Katrina had wider appeal.
A source reveals, "John sounded like Kat's agent. He kept telling the producers how the international film needed a leading lady like Katrina as she has a more foreign appeal.
John also claimed he would reduce his fee if they got Kat on board."
